In 1932, Harry Jennings, who was an engineer, built the first folding wheelchair and he built it for one of his friend whose name was Herbert Everest and was completely paralyzed. Then afterwards they founded a company together named, Everest & Jennings that sustained with a big name in wheelchair market for many years. As this company is not actively in business now but different health care and health products provider companies are marketing their wheel chairs with their brand name.

E & J travel recliner wheel chair is one of the prestigious and quality products. This product offers the same built-in quality as the standard traveler wheel chair offers, with the addition of a full reclining back. The back features unlimited adjustments using easy, finger-trigger hinge and cable mechanisms. Their Traveler Recliner comes with a higher back and removable full support headrest. Rear axles are mounted further back than on standard Traveler for added stability. It has maximum weight capacity of about 250 lb and provides seventeen (17″) inches seat depth. These chairs come with deep blue upholstery but optionally Burgundy and Black upholstery are also available. Company offers two (2) years limited warranty on frames and cross braces.

There are two basic variants of this product available having difference in the arm and width. The basic difference in arm type and width then result in almost six (6) variants;

  1. Detachable Desk Arm, Elevating Leg rest (Available in 16”, 18” and 20” width)
  2. Detachable Full Arm, Elevating Leg rest (Available in 16”, 18” and 20” width)
